Loro vs Granola: which one to pick for your meeting notes

In short
Loro and Granola both take notes from your video calls on your computer, without adding a bot to the meeting, and the note is ready when you hang up. Pick Loro if you also want to dictate in any app, like email, WhatsApp or Word, on Windows too (Granola's dictation is in beta and Mac only), if you work in Spanish as well as English, or if you want a cheaper unlimited plan: USD 9.99 a month or USD 80 a year, versus USD 14 per person a month for Granola Business. Pick Granola if you need a phone app, integrations with Notion, HubSpot or Salesforce, or meetings in languages other than English and Spanish.
The difference in one sentence
Granola is an AI notepad for meetings that has also started to dictate on Mac (in beta). Loro does both on Windows and Mac: it takes notes of your meetings and types what you say in any program on your computer. If you use Granola on Windows for meetings today and type everything else by hand, Loro covers both.

Where Loro wins
- It dictates in any app, on Windows too. Besides taking notes, Loro types what you say wherever your cursor is: an email in Gmail, a WhatsApp message, a report in Word. It removes the "um"s and adds periods, commas and accents. Granola's dictation (Voice Typing) is in beta and only works on Mac.
- Spanish and English, for real. The app, the website and these guides come in both languages, and notes come out in the language the meeting was held in.
- It costs less. Loro Pro is USD 9.99 a month or USD 80 a year (USD 6.67 a month). Granola Business is USD 14 per person a month.
- Your list almost fills itself. When you hang up, the note shows what you agreed to do and one click adds it to your To-do, with a date if someone said when.
- It works offline. Without a connection, Loro transcribes your meetings on your computer and, if you download its AI (about 2.6 GB), summarizes them there too.
Where Granola wins
- Phone and watch. Granola has apps for iPhone, Android and Apple Watch. Loro is for Windows and Mac only, for now.
- More languages. If your meetings are in Portuguese, French or German, Granola transcribes 30+ languages. Loro works in English and Spanish.
- Integrations. Granola connects to Slack on the free plan and to Notion, HubSpot, Attio, Affinity and Zapier on Business. Enterprise adds Salesforce.
- Company features. SSO, admin controls, HIPAA workspaces and SOC 2 Type II certification.
How each one takes notes
Both listen from your computer: your microphone and the call's sound. Nobody new joins the meeting.
Loro reminds you a minute before each meeting if you connect Google Calendar, and it also asks when you start a call that wasn't scheduled (Meet, Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp and others). One click and it docks to the side of your screen and listens. You can jot down what matters to you, or write nothing at all. When you hang up it writes the note: the meeting's topics and the next steps with each person's name. What you wrote stays in black and Loro's part in gray.
Granola works in a similar way: you open the meeting note, write what matters and, at the end, Granola fills in your notes with what was said. Your notes stay in black and what the AI adds is in gray.
Afterwards, both let you ask the note things like "what's still pending?" or draft a follow-up email.
Privacy
- Loro: meeting audio is never stored. Online, what's said is turned into text in the cloud, sentence by sentence, and the recording is deleted right away. Your notes are also saved in your Loro account so your AI can read them; if you'd rather nothing leaves your computer, you choose that in Settings.
- Granola: audio is deleted after transcription and notes are kept in its cloud. It's SOC 2 Type II certified and you can opt out of model training.
