How to install Loro on Windows
In short
Download Loro-setup.exe from heyloro.app/descargar, open it and follow the steps: it doesn't need admin rights. If the blue "Windows protected your PC" screen shows up, click More info and then Run anyway. When Loro opens, sign in with your Google account and setup walks you through the rest in about three minutes. It works on Windows 10 and 11.
Step by step
- Download Loro from heyloro.app/descargar. The file is Loro-setup.exe.
- Open it from your downloads.
- If you see "Windows protected your PC", click More info and then Run anyway. It shows up because Loro's installer doesn't have a digital signature yet, like many new apps.
- Follow the installer's steps. Loro installs for your user and doesn't ask for admin rights.
- When Loro opens, click Continue with Google and sign in in your browser. From your Google account, Loro only uses your name, email and photo.
- Go through setup (6 steps): you test your microphone, dictate for the first time, see how to edit by voice and write with your screen, connect your calendar (or leave it for later with Not now) and meet To-do.
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.

Meanwhile, Loro downloads its voice model for when you're offline. No need to wait: with internet you can dictate right away.
Where Loro lives
Loro stays next to the Windows clock. From that icon you open your dictations, your notes and settings, start taking notes on a call, or pause Loro. To dictate you don't need to open anything: in any app, hold Ctrl + Win and talk.
At the end of setup, Open Loro when you turn on your computer is on. You can change it anytime in Settings › Preferences › Start with Windows.
Updates
Loro updates itself. When there's a new version, it asks you to update with Update now: it takes less than a minute, and your notes, dictations and settings stay as they are. What each version brings is in the changelog.
