How to cancel a dictation
The Loro team
In short
Press Esc before letting go of the dictation keys. The pill says "Cancelled · I didn't type anything" and nothing gets pasted. If the text was already pasted, undo it like any text with Ctrl + Z (on a Mac, Command + Z).
Step by step
- While you hold Ctrl + Win (on a Mac, fn), press Esc.
- Let go of the keys.
- The pill says "Cancelled · I didn't type anything".
You can also cancel from Loro's icon next to the clock: while you dictate, its menu shows Cancel dictation.
If the text was already pasted
Undo it like any pasted text: Ctrl + Z in the app where it appeared (on a Mac, Command + Z).
Frequently asked questions
What if I already let go of the keys?
Then Loro has already typed what you said. Undo it with Ctrl + Z (on a Mac, Command + Z) in the app where it appeared.
How do I stop taking notes on a call?
That's different: on the call, click Stop. Loro only takes notes when you ask it to. More in How Loro takes your meeting notes.
